Frequently asked questions
How much does bathroom tiling cost per m² in the UK?
Labour is commonly £40–£60 per m² for standard wall and floor tiling, more for large-format, natural stone or mosaic work, plus prep and waterproofing. This calculator uses those guide rates — adjust them to your area and skill level.
How do I quote a tiling job?
Measure the wall and floor areas in m², price each by your rate per m², add preparation (tile removal, levelling, tanking), grouting and materials, then add VAT if registered. The calculator does the maths; you set the rates.
Should tiling quotes include waterproofing?
For showers and wet areas, yes — tanking is essential and should be a separate line so the customer sees it is included. Listing it also justifies your price against a cheaper quote that skips it.
Is this tiling calculator free?
Yes, completely free. You can also turn any calculation into a branded PDF quote with a free InstantTradeQuote account — no card needed.
